Purana Suite Ubud

The street outside Purana Suite Ubud is busy and noisy, though our room stayed very quiet. It’s centrally located, and getting around on foot is possible but can be an adventure, so we’d suggest Grab or a taxi for destinations. We were a couple around 30 and felt comfortable and welcome. The team was helpful and friendly, the room and pool were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We liked lounging by the pool, the free yoga, and the tasty breakfast and afternoon tea and cake. Dinner at the bistro was delicious too. They gave me plenty of ways to adapt my food because I shouldn’t have dairy due to an intolerance. They also helped a lot when my partner had Bali Belly. The food and drinks were high quality. We’d definitely recommend the hotel.

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful during our three nights in Ubud, but the comfort and value didn’t meet our expectations. The rooms were spacious, yet smelled strongly of damp, and the very soft beds made it hard to sleep well. The main building and restaurant looked stylish and well cared for, while the rooms felt neglected. Traffic noise was constant because the hotel is beside a busy junction on a main road, so it didn’t have the quiet atmosphere we wanted in Ubud. Breakfast was included, but portions from the menu when ordered separately were much larger than the included servings. Extras also felt overpriced. We paid about 5 AUD for two slices of bread, while nearby quality local restaurants offered authentic Indonesian dishes for the same price.

We’d stay again, especially for the location so close to central Ubud and the nice pool area to relax in. Our room by the pool entrance was pleasant, though it could use a little maintenance. For the price, it seemed fair. The staff were super friendly, and Victory made us feel welcome and had a good chat with us. Breakfast was perfect, and Y-an, our driver, was a really nice guy who greeted us every day.

I was in room 822 for five days, and it really felt like home. Whenever I needed something, the staff tried their best to help with care and kindness. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and the hotel is close to the walking streets by Ubud Palace and the famous Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. I loved the restaurant food and found the massages so relaxing. There were lots of activities and classes too, including morning yoga, wood carving, and Indonesian cooking. If you like sambal terasi, you can even learn to make it here. ✨🌶️ I can’t recommend the place enough.
