Svarga Bebek Villas

The restaurant looks amazing, and the staff were respectful, kind, and helpful. Svarga Bebek House was a really relaxing stay, with gorgeous decor and a quiet, charming pool area. There’s easy access to central Ubud, and the hotel has a large pickup area. I’d definitely stay again.

Getting to our room turned into a miserable start to the holiday. We arrived in the evening, exhausted and with our young child, but staff would not let us in because they wanted to charge extra for a bed. Our confirmed Expedia booking said our 6-year-old was included at no charge. They kept referring to “policy” and asked for 900,000 IDR (about 50€) per night, later bringing it down to 800,000 IDR. We were left arguing and waiting until nearly 11pm, when Expedia stepped in and the bed was finally made up. There was no flexibility or empathy, and it felt nothing like the warm welcome described in the hotel’s letter. On another day, staff left the door to the open-roof bathroom open. Our son ended up with lots of mosquito bites that night. Walking around the neighborhood with kids is difficult too, with holes everywhere and awful traffic in Ubud. The hotel’s response to my review reflects the management’s attitude. I have screenshots showing the child’s bed was free, and the booking platform acknowledged that with a refund. We still got a horrific welcome with no hospitality at all. We can’t recommend this hotel.

The calm, relaxing atmosphere made us feel at ease, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the delicious breakfast too. Everything about our stay felt great, and we’d happily come back.

We were seven friends staying in the villas, and the privacy and lovely setting made the stay memorable. My bed was comfortable, and I appreciated that the restaurant had gluten-free options. The staff remembered my food preference each time I ordered. Service was exceptional. We had an unforgettable time.
