Ubud Lestari Bungalows

A spacious room with its own facilities, a balcony, and a nice pool, plus breakfast included, made this good value. It’s down a narrow walkway off the main road, with a local feel, and stays quiet. There are plenty of good shops and places to eat nearby. The staff were friendly.

The rooms are roomy and look out over the pool and a lovely garden next door. They’re also very quiet, set well back from the street. The pool itself is lovely, though the deck doesn’t get sun in a way that’s good for sunbathing. One thing to know: in heavy rain, the alley floods, and you have to walk through it to reach the hotel. Breakfast wasn’t good, though the fruit was nice, so I’d eat elsewhere. A free water refill station would be a welcome way to cut down on the plastic waste from tourism. I did see mosquitoes, ants, and termites in the room, but fewer than at some other places I stayed. I enjoyed my stay overall.

The staff were great and always tried to help when I had a room issue. The room was spacious, with a huge balcony and a pretty nice bathroom with hot water, though it had a bit of a mold smell. The hotel is at the end of a small lane, about 300m down where cars can’t go, so it’s convenient for central Ubud but still quiet. A real gem for budget accommodation.

You can only fit one motorbike in the alley to get to the bungalow, but the location is excellent, within walking distance of central Ubud. It’s tucked into a tiny alley off Monkey Forest Rd, exactly across Starbucks Monkey Forest, so it’s peaceful despite being in the middle of the bustle. The service was really friendly, and it’s a quiet spot to rest. The room was spacious and airy, with a ceiling fan and air-con. Breakfast was simple, fresh, and tasty. The pool was surprisingly decent, and I enjoyed swimming a few laps. We’ll come back 😊
