Villa Ulun Mertha - 1BR Private Villa

My wife and I had an amazing three-night stay. The villa was super clean, breakfast was fresh every morning, and the staff were incredible. Whenever we asked for something, they followed up promptly. We can’t wait to visit again, best villa in Ubud!

We woke up peacefully every day with rice fields all around the villa. It’s a little far from the main road, but getting things delivered is easy, including food, drinks and even massage. The place was clean, had all the facilities we needed, and the staff were really likable and happy to handle our requests. All three breakfasts we tried were delicious and fresh, and the bed was really comfy too. Highly recommend.

The people at Ulun Mertha were the best part. Yan Was, his family and the rest of the lovely hosts made us feel truly cared for. When I fell ill, Yan Was’s mother made boiled rice water, and he went out of his way to bring me a bottle along with some passionfruit. They genuinely wanted to help me get better. I can’t say a single negative thing about their service. We wanted somewhere beautiful, quiet, private and relaxing, with a bit of pampering, and that’s exactly what we got. The accommodation was stunning, especially the luxurious rose petal bath. We could book massages in the privacy of our villa, and although it isn’t centrally located, everything was easy to arrange with a quick text or booking. Breakfast each day was delicious and filling. The Black Rice Pudding with Banana was my favourite, and the welcome drink was so good we ordered it every day. The kitchen and fridge were a good size for anyone wanting to cook, but we just ordered in because it was so easy. The bed was lovely and comfortable. I highly recommend this little piece of paradise.

It was our first stop, and the other places we stayed on the trip, at similar prices, left us comparing them to this one. We loved our four days here with my wife and our one-year-old son. The staff were amazing and looked after us so well. They arranged airport pickup even though we arrived at a very unpleasant hour, kept the villa impeccably clean, and provided great amenities and fantastic breakfasts. They even made special baby-friendly breakfasts for our son without being asked. Their thoughtfulness and friendliness were a highlight. It’s a bit of a walk to Ubud’s main drag, but we enjoyed it. The walk is pleasant and easy, close enough to the popular areas while still far enough away to properly relax. There was some renovation work next door, but that can’t be helped. We loved the stay and would recommend it 100%, and would return in a heartbeat.
