I stayed at this guest house after booking through booking.com, and everything seemed fine. I even recommended it to a friend. Today she told me that 2 million was stolen from her room and the locker code on her luggage had been changed as well. Maybe someone wanted to check out later. The best thing would have been to report it to police, but it's already too late. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

The location worked well, and it was good value for the price, even though many food places and the Ubud night market take a bit of walking to reach. It was my first homestay like this, and the view was beautiful. The room was clean and pleasant. Bring your own shampoo and soap. The fan kept things comfortable at night, and I didn’t have mosquito trouble inside.

The best part was being allowed to use the kitchen to make sandwiches. The owner treated me like family, and the place had the feel of a Balinese heritage home, right in the city centre, for a good price. The room was fine for mosquitoes, though there were some outside in the seating area. I’d prefer white bed sheets.

I’ve been coming back for four years, and this is still my favourite spot in Ubud. It’s right in the centre but surprisingly quiet, with a lovely view of the volcanoes. The rooms are clean and cute, with a fan or AC, hot showers and free WiFi, and they’re cheap. You sleep in a beautifully decorated temple. Mrs. Windha is lovely, shy and honest, and always does her best for guests. The little street beside Hanumanroad can be tricky to find. If you want a pool, you can use the one at Wayans guesthouse for IDR30k, just a 25-meter walk away.
