Waiwo Dive Resort Raja Ampat

The service here is what really stands out. They covered everything for a member of our group who is coeliac, and the chef had it all handled. The food and accommodation are great too. Dive into raja Ampat is attached to the resort, though the dive centre and resort are separate businesses. Their service is so ‘princess’ that they won’t even let you wash your own mask! The boats are better than most, and the guides and boat crew are super. This place should be on your shortlist.

What a wonderful part of the world. I loved the mix of Western, Indonesia, and Papuan food, and the staff remembered our food intolerances and accommodated them. The dining patio was breezy and peaceful. The resort itself is comfortable, with a spacious, manicured jungle feel. Electricity was available 24/7, and the AC kept my room cool throughout the trip. Dive shop Dive into Raja Ampat (DIRA) is part of the Waiwo grounds. Sonly managed the schedule so we could see the best parts of Central Raja Ampat, and gave me tips on spotting wildlife around the resort. Their day boats were the best I saw during my 9 days of diving. The staff on board were attentive and fun, and kept things organized when needed. They checked currents before every dive and would change sites if necessary. That happened on only 2 of my 27 dives there. When we did get a strong current, it wasn’t a surprise because the thorough briefings had covered it. Apart from one dive with a 3:1 guest-to-guide ratio, it was 2:1, often 1:1. The guides paid attention underwater without hovering and adjusted to each group’s preferences. 5/5 for all the boat staff, especially the guides. Theo was a fantastic guide who went above and beyond in many ways. If there’s a chance for a bonus, wage increase, and/or promotion, he deserves it. Highly recommended. 10/10.

It took us nearly three days to get here from the uk, but the trip was well worth it. We spent nine days at the resort and they couldn’t have done more for us. The hotel and dive teams were both excellent. The rooms were immaculate and cleaned to a high standard. I don’t like spicy food, so they made chips for me every night! There are lots of different dive sites, and the boat crew were always helpful, moving all our kit around. Recommend 100%.

Loved our stay! The house reef in front of our waterfront bungalow and the restaurant kept us snorkeling for hours. Tika and Peter made us feel welcome and spoiled, and the food, accommodations and diving were all top notch. We’d stay again and recommend it!
