My family and I stayed for 3 days in ground floor rooms 106 & 107. There were two elderly people, two kids, and a baby with us. We had a great time, with no issues with the rooms, Wi-Fi, TV, AC, or service. The bench outside our room was comfy, and we had breakfast there. We could ask for cutlery or a glass whenever we needed them. The staff cleaned the rooms perfectly while we were out travelling, after we asked them to. They even replaced our towels and added toiletries, including a toothbrush and toothpaste. The location was great for experiencing the crowd at Kranggan market, which I especially love, and finding tasty food there. If you're bringing a car, check with reception about parking first. Poncowinatan street was totally crowded in the morning ✨

We stayed at Hotel Poncowinatan for around one week, and it felt like home. After walking around, it was pleasant to come back and sleep well, away from the crowded central streets. The location is great, near the Yogyakarta Monument and around 10-15 minutes on foot from Malioboro street and the railway station. The staff were very nice and helpful. The two things that mattered most to us, good Wi-Fi and air conditioning, were both there. We'd come back to this hotel when we're in Yogyakarta.

I was lucky to be there for only one night. It was one of the most uncomfortable hotels I've ever had the misfortune to stay at. The aircon was so ineffective it was useless, and the hotel seems to have had no investment for many years. They really need to make some drastic improvements.

The AC barely cools the room, and there were lots of mosquitoes. The sheet was really dirty, and the room itself was dirty too. It was disgusting. This was a bad, dirty hotel.
