Raintree Boutique Villa & Gallery

The room had a cozy bed that made my one at home feel pretty poor by comparison. I also liked the historical photos of the area on the walls and the lighting. Around the central lounge and pool, which the rooms circle, the open-air layout feels comfortable, with good music. The pool and its raised central seating area seemed thoughtfully designed. What really made this place stand out was the rustic, artistic character, unlike the other hotels nearby. The staff were the best I've experienced for personal attention. Ozzy gave me his WhatsApp so I could reach him whenever I needed something, and he even drove me to the department store to pick up a few things. I slept really well and had an amazing stay. I had to turn in early to recover for the next part of my bike journey across Java and Bali, so I missed my chance to swim and enjoy more of the amenities. I'd come back for a more relaxed trip and make use of everything.

Ozzy was the real gem of our four-night stay at Raintree Boutique Villa. He sent us a welcome message before we even arrived, then made sure we were comfortable and well looked after the whole time. Every hotel could use an Ozzy. The bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable, and we slept so well. Breakfast was lovely and generous, with fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, juice, and a choice of hot dish. Thanks, Ozzy, for making the stay so special.

The Presidential Sweet Room door lock may need some attention. Otherwise, it seems like a nice room for a longer stay. We spent our time visiting well-known places around Yogyakarta, so we didn't have much chance to relax at the hotel, but I don't think we'd have been bored staying there all day. Families with small children may want to avoid it because the artwork could get damaged.

My ground-floor room was a little old, but generally comfortable. The bathroom could do with a renovation, and the thing that bothered me most was the window facing a wall, so no light came in at all. The staff were friendly and attentive, and breakfast was very good. I'd recommend paying for one of the more expensive rooms if you can afford it, otherwise I wouldn't.
