The bar staff made a great impression, both for the food and the service. The meal was really good, and they were brilliant to chat with and get advice from. Breakfast was just as good, with a warm welcome and lovely food. I travel for work every week and have stayed in hotels all over Ireland and the UK, though I don’t usually stay in Athlone. This was the best experience I’ve had. From the fun, warm welcome to the lovely room, everything was spotless. The team are a real credit to the hotel. I’d recommend it 100%. The only part of our stay that fell short was the young man at reception near the pool. He came across as a little dismissive. I wouldn’t call him rude, but the attitude could be better for a hotel of this standard. Our room was elegant and cozy, finished to a high standard with lovely attention to detail, and the view was just as magical as I’d hoped. The restaurant was excellent too, with delicious, high quality food and polite, attentive service. Mathew was especially kind and made our meal such a good experience. I’m also grateful for the sweet birthday surprise you arranged for my boyfriend. It made his day more memorable. Everything else was wonderful. Thank you for an unforgettable stay in such a beautiful place. 5/5 ❤️

The room was spotless, and the restaurant staff were courteous. The food was good too. We’ll be back. It was very busy on Saturday, but it was nice seeing everyone enjoying their time away. The gym had a great range of equipment and wasn’t too crowded. I enjoyed the leisure centre as well, though the steam room was so hot my skin started going red. Another guest was sitting on the floor, and a woman came in and left within a minute. I let the staff know.

The team here were so kind to me. I was running an ultramarathon but got delayed on the way, and by the time I arrived I was soaked from the pouring rain and chilled to the bone. They welcomed me warmly and offered a cup of menthol tea, which helped me feel better straight away. I’m grateful for how well they looked after me. I’ll be heading back out on the course soon. Thank you!

The rooms are really nice, and we found the hospitality very good. Breakfast had plenty of options, and the coffee was nice, though it wasn’t cooked to order. We enjoyed the pool and leisure centre. Dinner arrived quite cool, but they took it back and served us another one, and the meal was delicious. To be fair, it was a very busy night at the hotel on valentines. The rose on each table was a lovely touch. Highly recommended overall, 4.5 out of 5.
