The bed was so comfortable, and Andrew an Jean were fantastic hosts. We had a great breakfast and dinner, and the location is handy for some beautiful beaches. We’ll be back.

I live about 30 minutes away, so I haven’t stayed in a room here. Still, it’s one of my favourite spots to unwind with a pint and enjoy the harbour views. Sitting outside is lovely, and inside feels cosy and comfortable too.

The bar woman was lovely, one of the nicest people serving drinks we’ve met on holiday, and she’s excellent at her job. But the rest of the stay had several problems, and we wouldn’t return or recommend it. The main thing that spoiled it was being asked over and over if we’d paid. We were asked on arrival if we could pay then, which was fine. We handed over the money, got change, and immediately they asked whether we were paying by card or cash. Anyone can make a mistake, but the next morning, after breakfast, we were asked again at checkout, then again a few steps later at the counter, and once more by the door whether we’d paid cash or through booking.com. It was so annoying. Surely the payment could have been marked as paid on arrival. Our towels smelled of cigarette smoke. Dinner had only four choices. At breakfast, we were asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast, and the only alternative was boxes of cornflakes, Rice Krispies and similar cereal.

It’s a quiet, peaceful hotel right by the harbour. The room had tea and coffee, an ensuite, and towels and toiletries were provided. Breakfast included a full cooked Irish option as well as continental choices.
