The staff were lovely and the place was clean, but I struggled to sleep. We were there on a Saturday and heard the bar downstairs, the nightlife out on the street, and traffic from the motorway. Cars and bikes were revving and messing about outside late into the night, while we had an early start. There’s no parking on site, just street parking, where you could get clamped depending on the time. It was an okay hotel, but that’s about where the positives end.

We barely slept during our three nights. There was a constant droning noise in our room from above, and maintenance work at the hotel included a cherry picker starting up at 6am. Behind the hotel, the McDonald’s brought nightly screeching tyres, backfiring, loud music, and shouting. All of that made it a rough stay, even though the bed was comfortable, the room clean, the food lovely, and the staff very helpful.

The highway noise went on all night, so we couldn’t get proper sleep. For a hotel that’s meant to offer a peaceful night, that’s unacceptable, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking to rest. We’d booked a room with breakfast included, but no breakfast was provided. The hotel told us they never offer it.

Handy for day trips, and fairly central in Cork. It’s a stylish hotel with a bar and restaurant.

Fabio made our stay special. He was very professional, friendly, and happy to help with anything, from food suggestions to getting around. He speaks Spanish really well, and we grew very fond of him. The hotel’s pub-style bar is downstairs, with a restaurant and the bedrooms upstairs. The food was excellent, and our room had a balcony, a shower, and a very comfortable bed. It’s a three-star hotel about 4 km from Cork, 23 km from Cobh, 19 km from Blarney Castle, and under 7 km from the airport. We had a wonderful time, and this was our best trip to Ireland in a long while.
