We had a lovely dinner in the bar on our first night, and the buffet breakfast was one of the best we’ve had at a hotel. The hotel is gorgeous and very well placed for Temple Bar nightlife. Its own bar is part of that scene, though it feels a little separate from the hotel and didn’t intrude. From the moment we arrived, everyone was welcoming and helpful. The whole team was great, especially Luisa the Front of House Manager. We had a wonderful mini-break.

Temple Bar Hotel Dublin (The Unlimited Collection) puts you right among Dublin’s pubs, live music and busy streets. Step outside and you’re straight into the energy of the Temple Bar district. This isn’t a quiet retreat, and you’ll hear the city and its music, so light sleepers may want earplugs. It suits couples, friends and solo travelers better than anyone looking for peace and quiet. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, with practical design and what you need to recharge after a day out. They’re not especially luxurious. The location is the big draw, with Trinity College, Grafton Street, River Liffey, pubs, restaurants and live music all within walking distance. It’s a fun, lively place to stay if you want to experience Dublin from the middle of the action. 4/5. Travel is about how alive a place makes you feel, as well as where you stay.

A nice hotel for three guests, with a central location and pleasant staff. The music outside carried on until 1 or 2am and made it hard to deal with the atmosphere each night. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it’s something to keep in mind. Everything else was great.

The place was clean, and the location was good. I stayed for a week, though, and on three nights the TV audio suddenly came on around 3am while the TV itself was off. I have no idea if the place is haunted, but it was really weird. There was no refrigerator in the room, and housekeeping knocked if you didn’t put out a do not disturb sign. The front desk staff always seemed annoyed. At 6:30 one rainy morning we were waiting inside for a pre-booked taxi after briefly stepping out. One staff member kept asking whether we were guests, in a rude way, as if he hadn’t seen us leave and come back in. Cleanliness and location were the only real pros for me.

The rooms are quiet inside despite being right on a busy street with lively bars. They’re very clean, spacious and nicely designed, with comfortable beds and a good-sized bathroom. It’s a very good four-star hotel with lovely staff. There’s a breakfast bar and another bar for cocktails. The lift also makes it suitable for wheelchair users. Highly recommended.
