I photographed a wedding at summer hill for the first time in December, and what a gorgeous venue it is. It’s still got its charm, even after the year goes by. The place feels quirky and different, with a bit more to offer than some of the country house venues on Dublin’s outskirts. They looked after me so well, and I might still be full from all the food they gave me, haha. Hope to be back soon. Thanks so much, Andy.

The hotel has potential, but it needs new management. On our Friday and Saturday stay it was almost empty, and the restaurant had no atmosphere, so we ate elsewhere. The rooms are tired and miss the attention to detail you’d expect from a four star place. Our bedroom had dead flies all over it and an unvacuumed carpet. I told reception, but it wasn’t properly dealt with. The woman there seemed unsurprised and barely apologized, which was a strange response. We spent the next day at Powerscourt and should have stayed there instead.

The room was luxurious, the food delicious, and the staff were incredible. It was great value for money too. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at. I can’t recommend it more, and we’ll definitely be back.

We were there for a party and had a great time. The location was great, the venue and staff were friendly, and the food was very good. We only visited for the day, so I can’t comment on the rooms.

A nice place, though breakfast comes with so much food in the middle that it can be wasteful when it’s quieter.
