The location in Galway was hard to beat, and getting in was easy with contactless check-in and clear digital instructions. Parking was straightforward too. You pay ahead and a little extra per day, but in Galway it felt worth it. We stayed in the two-bedroom townhouse with our college junior, who was studying abroad, and a friend. There was lots of room and it was comfortable for all of us. Four floors, three bathrooms, a tub, great beds and linens made it feel just right. The kitchen was stocked with supplies and even a breakfast hamper, enough to cook a gourmet meal. We briefly met the lovely host, and the cleaning crew we saw on our way out were lovely too. We've travelled widely and stayed in many Airbnb-style places, and this is one of our favourites. No hesitation recommending it. Five stars, book it!

We loved coming back to such a clean, quiet and welcoming place after days out exploring. The owner's digital welcome booklet was detailed, with useful appliance instructions and great nearby restaurant suggestions. Being on the Long Walk and strolling through the Spanish Arch every day felt special. It was also perfectly placed for the Latin Quarter, and we enjoyed walking to Salthill. We're so glad we stayed at Heron’s Rest and would highly recommend it.

Such a warm home, with everything we needed, in a clean spot right in the city centre and close to Salthill. Sorcha replied quickly when we couldn't work out the shower. The local food left for us was a lovely welcome and tasted great. Best granola I've ever had. Thanks for making our holiday special.

A really good self-hosted B&B stay, just off Spanish Arch and a quick walk from the Latin Quarter. Ard Bia restaurant is practically right outside. The host left a lovely range of food to get our mornings started, and each room has binoculars for watching birds out the windows. Just be aware the rooms are spread over three levels and there are stairs. I highly recommend it.

A comfortable, clean apartment right beside the river, with breakfast things and tea and coffee in the kitchen. You can walk to everything. If you're driving, paying for parking in advance to secure a space is well worth it. We'll be back.
