We really liked staying here. It’s clean, cute and comfortable, with what you need nearby, and it’s right by the train station and the pickup points for our two day trips to the Aran Islands/Cliffs of Moher and Connemara. The pub downstairs had music in the evenings, which was a lovely way to finish the night. The hotel itself was quiet, though the street can be noisy, so earplugs are a good idea. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner and soap too. It’s not exactly a luxury hotel, but it worked perfectly for us.

I’ve always found the food good here. This time I had chowder, chips and a coffee, and was happy with both the meal and the service. I had no cash, so I paid by card and couldn’t leave the waitress a tip. It’d be great if they could change that.

The beds were comfortable, and during our weeknight stay the pub didn’t get too loud. We could leave our bags before check-in, which doesn’t start until 3 PM, and go explore. The location is hard to beat, with all that Galway has to offer close by.

We both ordered the Irish stew at Thirteen on the Green, and it was the best I’ve ever had. I make a pretty good stew myself, if I do say so. We chose the place by chance, and were glad we did: the food was great, the service was great, and it’s a charming spot.

We were after soup and sandwiches, and 13 on the green was the best fit among the pubs and restaurants along the street. The food was lovely, portions were good, and the staff were attentive. We’ll definitely come back.
