Neil was a proper gentleman, chatting with us and sharing useful local tips. Our experience at Herbert House was perfect, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The rest of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating too. The woman serving breakfast went above and beyond, honestly the best service we've ever had. When I said I loved croissants, they made sure to have them the next morning. The freshly made full Irish breakfast was delicious. There are other choices as well, including waffles, vegetarian options, cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and several kinds of bread. Breakfast costs a small extra charge since this isn't a B&B, but it was well worth it. We'd absolutely recommend Herbert House to anyone staying in Killarney. My sister and I loved this beautiful house. The owner was so welcoming, and the rooms were very comfortable. There's also a small kitchen if you want to make tea or coffee. Breakfast was hearty.

The family room had lots of space, was comfortable and well equipped, and even had access to a shared little kitchen with a microwave, toaster and fridge. We were impressed as soon as we walked in, the hotel is decorated so beautifully and tastefully. There's a gas station with a convenience store just down the street, where we picked up a couple of meals instead of paying restaurant prices. It's in a quiet, upscale part of Killarney and felt very safe. The main attractions are close, but it didn't feel like a typical tourist area.
