I've been visiting Killeen for the past couple of years, and somehow it gets better each time. Last weekend was a lovely treat before the Christmas rush. Ola gave us the warmest welcome at reception, and our huge room was spotless, perfectly in order, and decorated in an old-world style. The bed was the cosiest I've slept in at any hotel. Before dinner, Xhersi made our drinks, and I'd recommend his cocktails. He always serves them with a smile. Egli runs a superb restaurant, where our waitress Michaela was delightful and happy to help with anything. The food is on another level compared with anywhere else nearby. You can tell the chefs love their work, from the presentation to the flavours. Warm bread with tapenade and the evening's amuse bouche were lovely touches. Soft lighting, flickering candles and good music made the room feel special. We started with mushrooms and mussels, both full of flavour and expertly made. My partner had the steak, which he said was the tastiest and most tender he'd ever had. I chose the chicken supreme and, even though I was already getting full after the starter, I finished it with gusto. It was delicious, served with the evening's vegetables and potatoes. There was still room for chocolate fondant, rich but delicate, while my partner finished every bit of his eton mess. Egli recommended a delicious red wine to go with it all. We'd planned to go into town but enjoyed dinner so much that we stayed in for a nightcap before heading back to our room. The next evening, we ate at the bar, which has a good range of choices. We shared chicken wings and a burger, and I can't stop thinking about that big, juicy burger. Breakfast both mornings was amazing, with a great hot selection and a lovely buffet. The waiting staff were warm, friendly and fantastic throughout. We were almost sad to check out, but left feeling fully recharged. I've already started hinting that we should spend a night or two here over Christmas. Killeen is an absolute gem with five-star staff. Thanks, and see you all soon.

This is a lovely little hotel, and the staff are amazing and really helpful. It's small, so it doesn't get overly busy or noisy. Our room, 212, had a jacuzzi bath as well as a shower. Breakfast was fantastic, with a great menu, so I'd definitely book it with your stay. Killarney town is about a five-minute drive away. It cost me 14 euro to get into town, where there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. I didn't eat dinner at the hotel this time, but some locals I spoke to said the food here is amazing. I'll try it next time. Enjoy!

The viewpoint down the road was an easy walk, and we had a car, so being outside walking distance of town didn’t bother us. Our room looked out toward the church nearby, and we loved staying here. Breakfast was tasty and filling, and the staff were attentive and very friendly. Great value, and we’d happily come back. Thank you!

We felt genuinely welcome and well looked after by the staff and management. The hotel was very clean, and our updated room had everything we needed. It has that lovely Irish country house feel. I’ve been to Kerry before, but this was our first stay at Killeen House. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we’re already looking forward to coming back.

Jersey made both dinners feel special. He looked after us so well in the bar on our first evening, then spotted us in the restaurant the next night and came by to check that we were all right. The meals were delicious, and the staff were warm and kind throughout. At a small hotel like this, they get to know their guests. My husband, stepdaughter, and I loved our two nights here. The room was spotless and spacious, and the hotel is beautifully decorated. I only wish we’d stayed longer. Highly recommend it.
