The roast beef was awful, like rubber. I went in for Sunday lunch and had a few drinks, but we were told our time was up while people who had arrived before us and hadn’t ordered food were still there. When I asked why, I was told they were locals. At a time when the whole country was trying to follow the rules, it seemed locals could walk in without signing in, drink what they wanted, and stay as long as they liked, without ordering food.

The staff, apart from the chef, were friendly, but the meal was a real letdown. My friend waited an hour for chicken wings while the chef just stood by the door. I usually get nice food here, so I was disappointed: the €20 steak was swimming in grease, and the mashed potatoes were like concrete. I won’t be back.

The location is good and the rooms were clean and tidy, but I couldn’t sleep with live music downstairs going until 2 a.m. The bass had the light fittings vibrating. Street traffic and people were also easy to hear through the poorly sealed windows, and the bed wasn’t good either. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend the hotel.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the staff made us feel very welcome. My boyfriend and I stayed two days ago, had a lovely time, and will definitely be back.

It’s an inexpensive spot in a great location, just a short walk from the beach. The locals were welcoming, and the place was child friendly. We also really liked the food and bar, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I’d definitely recommend it.
