The food was a highlight: we had dinner at the hotel two nights in a row, and it was divine. Breakfast was superb too, and the bar is lovely, with great drinks at reasonable prices. The marine design, especially the turquoise and dark blue colours, really suits Waterford, and our room was amazing. Staff were helpful from check-in onward, even bringing the fan we requested straight away. My fiancée and I stayed for two days over New Year, from 31st December to the 2nd January, and loved the whole experience. After I left a valuable item behind, reception rang me right away, kept it safe, and were very kind when I collected it. We’ll definitely come back for another break. For us, it’s the best hotel in Waterford, and the prices are great too.

Bruno helped us through everything from start to finish, and made arranging our son’s christening celebration feel smooth and stress-free. The other staff were friendly, attentive and professional all day as well. We held the celebration in the restaurant at Viking Hotel. The place was clean and well looked after, the food was delicious, and the portions were generous. Everything was presented beautifully and organised perfectly. We’d happily recommend the hotel and plan to return.

The carvery and buffet breakfast were both gorgeous, just what we needed after New Year. We stayed two nights, our first time there, and were welcomed with smiles as soon as we arrived. The rooms have been renovated very recently and are beautiful. The whole hotel was spotless, and every member of staff was friendly and looked after us. We genuinely couldn’t fault the place. Definitely coming back!

The food was excellent, and the whole stay was great value. Every staff member was outstanding and so friendly and helpful. We were there 18-19th Feb.2026, and I’ll definitely be back.

Reception and restaurant staff were excellent. The room was clean and tidy, though pretty sparsely furnished. The bathroom had plastic glasses with sharp edges, so be careful drinking from them. Towels were fine if you’re a size 8, but wouldn’t go halfway around my waist.
