Prima Kings Hotel

The room was a decent size and had a sensible layout, but the cleanliness was unacceptable. The windows were extremely dirty and looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in years. There was hair on the freshly made bed and in the bathroom too. The hallway smelled strongly of sewage, and whenever we opened the door, the odor drifted into the room and lingered for several minutes. We stayed one night at Prima Kings Jerusalem. The lobby and entrance were tasteful but plain, with dated decor that could use a refresh. The TV didn’t work until we called maintenance. Worse, the room was freezing. A technician spent about 20 minutes trying to fix the heat, but an hour later it was still frigid. We called him back, he spent another 15 minutes on it, and the heat still didn’t work properly, so we called a third time. Nobody apologized or offered to move us. They eventually brought a portable heater, but it barely helped and warmed only a small part of the room. It felt like a temporary patch. I’m usually positive and forgiving, and rarely leave negative feedback unless it’s deserved, but this stay was frustrating and disappointing. Between the dirt, the odor, and the unresolved heating problems, it wasn’t comfortable or pleasant. I hope the hotel improves its upkeep and attention to detail.

The location was perfect, right in central Jerusalem. The Prime Minister's residence is nearby, and during our stay a security drill closed the intersection and street. Pedestrians weren’t allowed to cross, so we were stuck on the sidewalk for about 10 minutes. The service was PHENOMENAL. Abbas, the concierge, was incredibly helpful and nice. Liat was in the dining room every morning, making omelets perfectly and accommodating every request from me and my kids. She was such a kind, pleasant person to see each morning. The rooms were a bit small for my (American) tastes, which is why I gave 4 stars. There were shelves in the closet but no drawers to unpack into. We had TV problems several times: the remote failed twice and had to be replaced, and the Prime Video app didn’t work, though Netflix and YouTube did. The two twin beds were side by side to make a king size bed, but weren’t anchored to the floor and moved VERY easily. Those issues were minor and easy to ignore. Excellent experience overall. Highly recommend.

The staff were warm and friendly, and Nasser went out of his way to make our stay memorable. Liat greeted us with a smile every morning in the dining room. The renovated rooms were very nice and clean too. And the location is beyond amazing, within walking distance of Ben Yehuda, the shuk, and the old city.

Lead is the number 1 cook, with a gorgeous name, a lovely personality, and the best cooking in Yerushalayim. That’s why I stay at this hotel. I first heard about her in New York, USA. Good blessings Israel.
