Welbeck Hotel and Apartments

Lucy at the front desk was the sweetest and made arranging reservations easy. The hotel has a lovely bar and restaurant with good food and a great atmosphere. My room was nice, with big bathrooms. I’d gladly stay again.

I was here recently for a work trip and arrived on the ferry around 6am with no idea what to do. I asked the receptionist about checking in early, and he went out of his way to see what he could arrange. The rooms were clean and spacious, right by the seafront. The hotel does feel dated, but the great team and atmosphere make up for that.

I picked the hotel based on its price and rating, expecting a basic room with the listed amenities. Instead, the room felt worth twice what I paid. It was well equipped, well maintained, spotless, and a pleasure to stay in. The food was tasty, with generous portions at a good price, and the service was friendly and efficient. The location is almost on the seafront, and the Wi-Fi was fast and free. It's a great choice for staying in Douglas without a car, since street parking is a challenge. There is a lift, but it’s slow and claustrophobic. I used the stairs, though it’s quite a climb to the upper floors, so avoid it if you have mobility issues.

Great breakfasts, and the bar and meal service was friendly and spot on. The rooms at the Wellbeck are clean, well kept, and serviced daily, with tea, coffee, and biscuits provided. It looks like some bathroom refurbishment has been done. The hotel is within 200 yards of the promenade, and I’d definitely stay again.
