Shore Hotel

The chicken was excellent, and the portions were enormous. We had lunch at The Shore on Monday and both enjoyed our meals. There was a great choice on the menu, the staff were friendly, and the food arrived without much of a wait. It was very busy for a Monday lunchtime, so I’d book ahead next time. We hadn’t reserved, but we’d definitely return.

The hospitality here was the best, and the food was so tasty. One of my favourite pub nights ever. If you’re in the area, make a stop here, honestly, anywhere on the island. Eat, drink, and be happy!

The food was average, and we won’t be back. We came to The Shore for lunch with extended family and our four-month-old. We’d clearly mentioned on the phone that we’d bring a pushchair, but on arrival staff said pushchairs weren’t allowed in the restaurant. They suggested balancing our baby’s car seat on a dining chair, which we refused because it didn’t seem safe. We’ve visited much busier places without this being an issue, so the whole thing felt strange. The staff were rude and even denied what had been said on the phone.

We had fantastic views from room 2, as well as from the restaurant and bar. The room itself was fabulous, and the location made it easy to explore the island. The beach is just a dozen steps away, and there’s a huge free car park plus a garden where you can have a drink outside. We had a wonderful stay at Shore Hotel on our first visit to the Isle. The sunny weather was a surprise. We’ll certainly come back and try to pick up the few things that were closed or unavailable this time.
