COMIS Hotel & Golf Resort

We were there for five days and found it really relaxing. Our dog even had a basket and some welcome treats waiting. The couples hot-stone massage was lovely too, thanks Nomsa. We'd happily come back.

The pool was calm and lovely, and children could use it too. Reception were friendly and quick to help with whatever we asked. There's a small play area, though it's really only suited to very little kids. They don't have family rooms, but we could add beds for the children for £20 a night, breakfast included. There was still loads of room with both extra beds in place. We would've booked a longer stay if we'd known that.

We had to change the night we'd booked because something came up, and the reservation team sorted it in minutes with no hassle. The person on the phone was so helpful. Amazing service, and we'd highly recommend staying here.

The food was excellent, including our Sunday carvery, and the chefs clearly know what they're doing. Service was another story. We waited a long time for anyone to come over, so my husband went to the bar to get our drinks. Three of us had carvery, while the fourth ordered salmon from the kitchen. We asked to be told when the salmon was nearly ready so we could get our carvery and eat together, but that never happened. Our jug of water didn't arrive either, and nobody checked whether we wanted more drinks during the meal. After pudding we waited around hoping to order coffee, then my husband eventually went to the bar to pay. It's a lovely place, which makes the poor service from the waiting staff especially disappointing.
