The location worked really well for us. Tesco, takeaways, the railway, museum, and places to eat were all within walking distance. The bay views were lovely, the apartment was quiet, clean, welcoming, and comfortably heated, and there was a welcome plate with tea, biscuits, and milk. The lifts were useful, too. Getting in was a mess. We booked through booking.com and arrived in the evening, but there was no sign for Bay View appartments and no one answered when we called. People passing by didn’t know where it was either. We eventually found it by chance, trying key safes along the road called Bay View. The apartments were advertised as holiday let's by another company, whose logo was still clearly on the only entrance door. There was no Bay View or Booking.com signage. The next day we got an apology call saying the sign must have blown away. Really? We had no one to help until then. The bed was comfortable, but the TV channels were very limited and the remote was missing its back. There’s a washing machine, no dryer. The freezer was iced up over two drawers. The kitchen had just one large mug, one small mug, and two cups, and there were no table mats for the glass table. The shower tray was very slippery, so take care. There’s no private parking. We were told during the apology call that we could park by the apartment door on the street whenever a space opened up. There are no restriction signs along the promenade opposite the flats, but there are some along Bay View Road. In summer it could be hard to find a spot in either area, since it’s all street parking open to anyone.

The apartment was clean, modern, and had what we needed for a short break. The bay views and sunsets were fantastic, and the place was comfortable, with a lift to the upper floors. It’s only minutes on foot from the beach and shops. Everything was well organised and easy to arrange. I’d highly recommend it.

We found the apartment quiet, bright, and airy, with windows that opened for plenty of fresh air. The bathroom was lovely, the mattress very comfortable, and there was always hot water with good pressure. The kitchen had everything we expected, including tea towels, dish cloths, and bin bags, and the fridge and freezer were running when we arrived. It’s in a perfect spot in the middle of the bay, with a lovely view day and night. Fairy lights along the promenade make it beautiful after dark. Parking was free along the promenade, with two hours right outside the door. Having a lift to our apartment door was great.

The small details were thoughtfully covered: milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, biscuits, washing up liquid, and even dishwasher tablets. The apartment was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, and the photos don’t really capture it. My mum has trouble walking, so they kindly put a folding bed in the lounge for me and let her have the lovely bedroom. There are a few steps to the front door and two more inside, then a lift to all floors. Wi-Fi was decent. A bigger TV and a Smart TV would have been nice, though once it was light we weren’t looking at the screen with that view. Parking was tricky when we arrived because there was an event at Erin Arts Centre, but I’m now parked across from the apartment on the promenade. We’d stayed for years in a hotel a few yards up the prom, sadly no longer there, so we knew the morning view and it’s worth five stars by itself. After daylight, I also wanted to thank the people who renovated the building. It looks fantastic from outside, too, and faces that amazing view of Port Erin bay. Some other buildings on the seafront have gone for modern looks, while this one keeps its traditional appearance and looks all the better for it.

The bay views and location are fantastic, and the apartment has everything you need. The internet might feel a little slow and adjusting the shower temperature can be tricky, if you’re being very picky. I’m struggling to find anything else to complain about. Port Errin might not suit everyone, I suppose. If you’re driving, check how the parking disc system works before you arrive so it doesn’t catch you out on the first day. Once you know the system, it’s fine.
