Trident, Agra

The food was extraordinary, beautifully prepared and very high quality. Across our 22 nights in India, this was our best hotel experience by far, even though we stayed in good hotels on the trip. We hadn't stayed at the Agra hotel we'd originally booked for personal reasons, so we walked in here and asked about a room. They offered a rate a little below the one we could get, with breakfast and dinner included. Our room overlooked expansive gardens. There was an issue with the shower, but it was fixed quickly and without fuss, and they left chocolates as an apology. Everyone on staff was attentive and helpful.

We've come from Delhi for our third visit, and enjoyed it again. The food and pool area were especially nice. The crew are professional, but also serve guests with warmth and passion. Our room was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. It's in the city center, and the location is excellent.

The location near the Taj Mahal is very convenient, and the staff are a real credit to the hotel. Everyone was polite and helpful. The rooms feel a little dated, as do the shower and towels, though the shower worked perfectly. The complimentary shaving kit in the bathroom was pretty much nonfunctional. For a tourist hotel it's perfectly suitable, and if you don't need to be in the lap of luxury, it's well worth a try.

We spent one night here in February and had attentive service throughout. Tanushree at the front desk was especially on top of things, and we booked private drivers through the hotel. The evening puppet show was a nice treat, and I found the Balinese massage relaxing. I'd recommend it.
