Oriental Inn

We couldn't get the room we'd booked through OYO on the site. The receptionist said downloaded or laminated small Aadhaar cards weren't allowed, as they counted as originals, and said this was OYO policy, so we couldn't have the room. It was a horrible situation for us, especially since the same Aadhaar card is accepted everywhere. I'm not sure if they were making an excuse to avoid giving us the room booked through OYO.

The booking app showed private parking, but there wasn't any, so I had to leave my vehicle on the roadside. When I asked for a room with parking, the representatives suddenly said no rooms were available. It felt like the parking information on the platform was misleading. The staff's behavior was awful too. They came across as arrogant and unfriendly, and one acted as if he owned all of Tamil Nadu. I was thoroughly disappointed when I arrived.

The room smelled bad, and the sheets were stained and torn. The bathroom smelled too and was really unpleasant. Nothing seemed maintained for decades. The walls had stains and cracks, despite the OYO pictures showing newly constructed rooms. It felt like a scam booking through OYO. Check carefully before booking. Our money was wasted, and we had a terrible stay.

We paid ₹2,000 for a stay with barely any time between check-in and checkout. Twice during that short stay, they made us wait outside while they cleaned the room. When we came back, it was still filthy, with hair all over, and the bedsheets clearly hadn't been washed. The management seemed indifferent to our complaints. My stay at Oriental Inn, Chennai, was absolutely pathetic and unhygienic. If you care about cleanliness and value for money, avoid it.
