Dev Orchid Hotel

My online booking at O-Hathijaan in Ahmedabad wasn’t honored, and when I insisted they open the rooms, I found them in extremely poor condition. Some toilets had shit, while others had cigarette buds, and the rooms smelled foul. Broken furniture and foul-smelling blankets added to it. The rooms looked so pitiable I couldn’t even bring myself to take a picture. There was no hotel manager, just two help boys who had no idea what was happening. The property hadn’t prepared the rooms for my booking. I’m asking for strict action and for it to be blacklisted on all platforms so no other customer has to use it.

The AC only ran at a fixed temperature, and the room got cold very quickly. The remote didn’t work, so I had to turn the unit off. The bathroom was even worse. Poor service, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Non AC rooms are 600 and AC rooms are 800. In the AC rooms you can’t adjust the temperature, and it keeps running at 18°C, making the room very cold. The bathrooms aren’t very clean.

This place has changed its name from Collection O 27930 Hotel Dev Palace to Hotel O Vatva Hathijan Near Ramol Circle, but that won’t hide the truth. Don’t be fooled. I booked a Double Room for three nights through BOOKING.COM weeks ahead, and told them I’d arrive late by train at 10:50pm. They said that was fine. I messaged them through BOOKING two days before to remind them, then emailed through BOOKING the day before. Neither message got a reply. The hotel is over 13kms from the city centre. I arrived at 11:40pm and found it on the 4th floor with the lift out of order. I had to carry all 30kg of my luggage up the stairs. Floors 1, 2, and 3 were dirty and derelict. Reception told me they were full and had no rooms, and there was no English. I sat in reception to get online and find another hotel. At midnight, ten minutes later, the receptionist told me to leave because his “24 hour reception” was going to turn out the lights. I ended up on the street at midnight, 13kms from the city centre, without a room. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!
