Country Inn Amritsar

Taran Dev deserves a thank you. The front desk staff were polite and professional, and both the food and rooms were excellent. Country Inn is also close to the railway station. It was a wonderful stay, so I suggest everyone come here.

The food was tasty, and the rooms were spacious and clean. A good place to stay.

The breakfast was a letdown, with the same fixed menu repeated. Once, the bread ran out while guests were there, and the poha was undercooked. The ground floor washroom smelled bad, and housekeeping was far below standard. I felt there was no value for the money and came away feeling cheated. I strongly recommend that people avoid staying here, and the hotel's rating should be downgraded. Problems started at check-in. I was shown a suite, but its key card didn't work, so I had to go up and down. The suite bathroom wasn't clean, and I often had to remind staff to replenish toiletries. The lamps were dusty and had cobwebs, and the bedsheet was torn. Both the TV and the tea and coffee machine had to be replaced because they weren't working. The washbasin was clogged and the shower handle very loose, so maintenance had to come fix them.

What impressed me most was the waiter's honesty. As we were heading back to our room, he checked that I meant to leave the tip amount I had written down. I did, because his service had been that good, and I appreciated him confirming it. We were part of a Amritsar stay and found the hotel fantastic. Our room was spacious and clean, with an excellent bathroom. The late lunch snack of tandoori chicken was delicious. Dinner was included in our package and was awesome: chaat, paneer kadai, chicken lababdar, yellow dhal, and ice cream/gulab jamun. At breakfast, we enjoyed everything we chose from the buffet. I'd recommend staying here without hesitation.
