The Nirvana By Urban Galaxy

I booked Hotel Nirvana by Urban Galaxy through the Agoda app, confirmed the reservation with the “pay at hotel” option, and was there in person for my full stay from 20/02/2024 to 23/02/2024. Yet when I arrived on 20/02/2024, I learned that management had cancelled the booking on the app, leaving no record of my stay. I didn’t initiate that cancellation. It meant losing the Agoda benefits I expected, and it seemed to me the hotel was trying to avoid booking site commissions at the expense of guest trust. I caution others about booking here because the experience left serious questions about transparency and reliability. The room was cramped and poorly cleaned. Staff showed little interest when I asked for it to be cleaned, and complimentary water was provided on just one of my three days. The entrance through a narrow gully was littered with debris and waste, making it unpleasant and inconvenient to navigate with luggage. The one redeeming point was that the Golden Temple is within walking distance. Still, cleanliness, amenities, and access made the stay unsatisfactory, and I’d suggest looking elsewhere for a comfortable, hassle-free stay.

Once we reached the property, the rooms were so small I can’t explain it. The place is on a tiny road where even a car can’t pass. We’d booked for two days after getting their number from Google. They showed us Urban Galaxy, which is obviously better than this place, then sent photos that made it look nice. The booking was under the Urban Galaxy name, but when we said we’d booked Urban Galaxy, they argued with us. We’d already paid, so we checked in. We asked for an upgrade, and they charged us more. Hospitality was zero. Nobody was at reception when we needed anything, and when we asked them to arrange something, they said, “MAAM STAFF NI HAI.” What kind of hotel has no staff? We asked for towels and waited three hours; the one we finally got had holes in it. We asked them to open the solar at 5 so we could get hot water, but despite multiple calls they didn’t do it until 10. They weren’t responsive. They charged 400/- for dal makhni. At checkout, they hadn’t included the amount we’d already paid for the advance booking in their calculation of what we owed. We argued with them for almost an hour in the morning, and the person at reception said, “I don’t know, it is what it is.” These guys are making fools of people. Never book here, no matter what. I wish I’d never stayed. Pathetic service and the worst hospitality.

The hotel has been newly renovated, and the price was truly within my budget. It’s also a short distance from the Golden Temple.
