The Hammock Goa

We’re still trying to get the refund for a night we didn’t stay. We checked out at 9 AM, but instead of charging for the one night we used, the owner deducted two nights. Goibibo told us the owner had refused the refund, and as of the 29th, after we’d returned home, we still hadn’t received the money. We spent one night at the property and another day arguing over the refund, losing two days of our vacation. Please don’t stay here if you care about your family or your holiday. We booked through Goibibo for 23 to 28 November 2025. When we called to ask for the exact location, the owner, Avneet, first denied that the property was listed on Goibibo and told us to book through Booking.com, where the prices were much higher. We went ahead with Goibibo and sent her our IDs; then she said we could come on the 23rd. We had booked Mogra but were given Plash. We refused to stay there because we’d paid for Mogra, and were told we could use Rajnigandha for two days since the Mogra rooms had already been given to other clients. The rooms were dimly lit, there was no TV, and the whole property smelled of mould. The patio was very dirty. The pool was shared with another restaurant on the same land, and staff said it was cleaned about once a month, depending on how many guests had used it. We saw a snake in the dining area in the morning and told staff, who said that was normal and it wouldn’t come there. When we got back to our room and opened the window, a snake at least four feet long was right beside it. We called the owner, who didn’t answer, then called staff and showed them the snake; they confirmed it was there. We asked to cancel the rest of our booking. The owner initially refused, but agreed after we said we would escalate it because our safety and health were at stake and we were travelling with a three-month-old baby. We thanked her for cooperating, though it took a lot of effort to cancel the remaining days. The claims that the property is clean are completely false. The Rajnigandha main bedroom bathroom had no ventilation or exhaust and only a 10-watt bulb. The bed was on the floor, and the whole property smelled damp. The grass hadn’t been trimmed, so reptiles could be seen. In one day and within an hour, we saw two snakes, one in the dining area and another just outside our room on the patio. We have photos. The ground staff were good, but if something goes wrong, they won’t help. The owner was arrogant, and this property ruined our vacation.

The rooms were clean and good, and the staff were all good. Breakfast could have been better, though. For two days with my family and pet, it cost 13k, and I felt they could include breakfast at that price instead of charging extra. Manager Fanil explained that the charges followed the policy, but maybe the owner could make a small adjustment to the breakfast policy.

As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and relaxed here. I stayed for 13 days and had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to make me comfortable. My room was spacious, well kept, and had a beautiful view I enjoyed every day. The food was consistently delicious, with a good range to choose from. I’d highly recommend this welcoming, peaceful, well-run place.

Hammock was the best part of our time in North Goa, and the place is so aesthetic. If you’re staying in Anjuna, I’d recommend it to anyone.
