We found plenty of reasonably priced street food nearby, and Ram Mandhir was only about a five-minute walk away. Ayodhya Railway station took around ten minutes on foot. The room was clean and decent, though most rooms seemed to lack ventilation and there’s no lift to the upper floors. The AC gave us fresh air, and I got a decent room for 1200 by booking in person. Thankyou ji
The room was good, and the temple nearby made the location ideal. At 1k a day, the price felt fair. One suggestion: when tourists come from other states, be kind to them and offer better guidance about places they can visit in Ayodhya.
The location is the strongest point, close to Ram temple, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak mahal, Dashrath mahal and the market. The rooms, though, were not worth the rate: the bedsheets and bathrooms were unclean, along with several other below-average things. We paid 6000 rupees for two rooms for one night on 14th aug 25, when many hotels were empty and there were few tourists. This is a homestay, and nearby homestays offered better prices. In my view, a fair rate would be 1800-2000 rupees per night. At 3000 per night, I expected better facilities, so I’d give the property one star at that price. I’d have rated it well if it had cost 1800-2000. We booked through booking.com, whose property page said no advance payment or credit card was needed. After we confirmed, calls came from three or four different numbers demanding at least 25% upfront to hold the rooms, or they might give them to someone else. Some calls were from goroomgo property, flagged as spam in Truecaller. I expected a call from Mateshwari Palace hotel, not a caller ID marked with the spam red flag and the name goroomgo, which sounded fake.
The hygiene and cleanliness need attention, and the service doesn’t justify what they charge. They gave us a half-cut pears shop, and only after we asked did they provide the head and shoulders sachets. At those prices, you can find a decent hotel in any tier two city.
I paid ₹1500 for a poorly cleaned, badly maintained room. When I asked for a bill, the woman at the front desk said I’d need to pay another ₹400 for GST to get one. That extra charge hadn’t been mentioned when I booked. It felt completely unprofessional, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
