Hotel Mookambika Deluxe

The furniture is very old and damaged, and there are no charging points. Beds have thick foam that sinks when you sit down, and the plastic covers on all the beds make a bad noise when you sit or sleep. There's no room service or hospitality. No telephone in the room, and the service bell is just there for time pass. A third-rate hotel.

Nice experience. The location is good, the rooms and washrooms were clean, and the staff were helpful. The manager in particular was very courteous.

The location was awesome, with the main sights all within walking distance, and the price was good. I wouldn't call the "Deluxe" room deluxe, but it was comfortable and sufficient. The booking site hadn't forwarded my reservation, so the booked room wasn't available on the first night. The staff kindly put me in a different, bigger room for that night without charging extra. They were also extremely helpful with tips and arrangements.

The manager/owner was helpful and made sure I was comfortable, even arranging a sightseeing cab. I only stayed one night, after a booking issue forced me to switch from another hotel, and I'd been sceptical at first. The rooms are a little old and rough around the edges, but passably clean. It's right opposite the bus stand, which is convenient but also quite noisy, though I didn't have much trouble with that. Don't expect 5-star service, but for a reasonably comfortable stay of a couple of nights, it will do. The hotel has a bar but doesn't serve meals. Veg snacks are fine, but nonveg isn't.
