The prices are hard to justify for the kind of stay we had. It felt like paying five-star rates for a zero-star experience, with no connection between the room cost and its quality. It seemed more like money going toward the owner's ego than toward comfort. Staff seemed untrained and couldn't handle basic requests like check-in or clean towels. There was little effort or urgency, and I’ve had better hospitality at a self-service gas station. The owner came across as bossy and inexperienced in hospitality, ordering staff and guests around instead of making the place welcoming. Save your money and sanity. Nearby places seem to value their guests and understand basic hospitality. This hotel is a clear case of poor management and wasted potential.

The food and service were good, and they even provide mosquito repellent at night. At the reception I got the room for 999, which is why I suggest avoiding MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, or other online booking apps for hotels like this. They're useful for looking at properties, but unless it's a four- or five-star place, I wouldn't book online. The hotel has been renovated on the outside, and the tiles are new, but the rooms still feel old. A tap in the toilet leaked and the commode wobbled. It seemed like an old man trying to be young, without quite managing it. In summer, mosquitoes could be a nightmare, and the AC may struggle to cool such a large room, though it should still be okay. If you want the number, message here and I'll share the reception person's number so you can avoid giving online apps a cut.

It's in a good spot, right at the junction in what I'd call a premium locality. The basics are fine: food is decent, the AC works, the bedding is clean, and room service is okay. Just don't expect anything fancy. There were no toiletries in our rooms. Also, there's no lift, and the stair steps are so high that they’d be difficult for older people, really for anyone.

The sheets and towels were stained beyond what I could tolerate. When we complained, staff's first response was that washed sheets and towels just look that way. The rooms were in awful condition, and we moved to another place after three days, even though we had planned to stay for nine. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have no other option. It was the worst place we've stayed.

I attended a Forever Living Products conference in the basement hall at Ashoka Hotel. It can hold around 300-400 people, but no more, and getting to it felt like entering through a back door. Since it's a basement, ventilation isn't properly installed, so it gets very suffocating in summer. The hotel and banquet hall sit at a corner of a Choraahaa, which is a nice location, but there isn't proper vehicle parking. I didn't book a room or use room service, so I can't comment on those.
