Breakfast took 50 minutes to arrive, and the crockery was old and chipped, including the tea mug. We asked for butter toast but got jam toast instead. Every little request had to be repeated multiple times. At check-in, they joked about us providing ID for the kids, which irritated me after a long trip and flight delays. I know the staff might say I was rude, and I’m sorry if I made them feel bad, but I was really tired. We arrived at 11:30 at night because our flight was delayed. There were eight of us and we’d booked two cabs. The first arrived while I was waiting for the second. When my wife and kids got to the hotel, they saw 8-10 drunk men coming out, making loud noises and causing a commotion. They were scared and waited in the cab for me. The shutter was half down, and the guard called them to come in quickly instead of staying outside, which scared my wife even more. After I arrived and persuaded her, she agreed to stay. Then we found out reception had changed our room from the second or third floor to the fourth, without explanation. It was late and we had no other option. The rooms were dim and small, and didn’t seem like deluxe rooms. I’ve attached a few pictures for readers. I feel there’s a trend where people who book online get the short end of the stick. Once you’ve booked and paid in advance, you have no bargaining power, and hotels can give you whatever room is left after walk-in guests get the good rooms. Walk-ins also get a better price than online guests.
