Tanisha Heritage Haweli

I arrived at this Haweli in Bikaner and only then realized I’d booked the wrong date. The staff were understanding and helped sort it out, going out of their way to accommodate me. Their flexibility and professionalism turned what could have been stressful into a comfortable stay. I had a really pleasant time, appreciated their kindness, and would recommend the place to anyone visiting Bikaner.

I rarely write reviews, but this stay was bad enough that I felt I should warn people. The room smelled, had lots of mosquitoes, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. It also looked nothing like the photos online. The owner’s attitude was awful from the beginning, rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. They said the stay was “pure veg,” yet we saw eggs cooked on the same plates and beer being served, which felt misleading and disappointing. At checkout, the owner rudely inspected the room and accused us of taking a towel, claiming he had given us three, though there had clearly only been two from the start. The whole thing was unpleasant and embarrassing, the worst homestay experience I’ve had.

The owners were pleasant and helpful, and both the hotel and bedroom were clean. It’s a lovely hotel in a good location, and the food was good too. The only problem was the shower in our deluxe double bathroom, and the drain smells were definitely unpleasant. I can’t speak for the other rooms.

The host was wonderful, and the property was well maintained with the feel of staying in a haweli. I stayed for two days and was able to park my two-wheeler.
