Elite Residency by OYO Rooms

I booked through Jayam Enterprises, whose brochure showed clean, hygienic rooms. The place turned out to be the complete opposite, with mold and fungus on the walls and an untidy bathroom. I only had to stay for 12 hours, so I compromised.

The room was clean and neat, and the bathroom was well cleaned. It wasn't spacious, but it was fine for one person. They provided a bottle of water, a towel, and soap. The front desk staff member was kind and friendly, explained the rooms and services politely, and even gave me a discount. The residency is close to the railway station and easy to access. Finding an affordable room near the central railway station is a blessing.

I stayed in room 107, which had no AC and was the most untidy room. The hotel and OYO support both gave me a very bad experience. Before check-in, the hotel guy took my phone and gave himself a full rating. I couldn't change the rating or cancel the booking. Then he asked for 700 extra, and after bargaining I still had to pay 350 extra. I gave OYO customer support the bill, but it was no use. I think the area manager doesn't let OYO know the real hassles customers face at the hotel. Even with all the hotel details printed on the bill, support said the copy wasn't valid. How am I supposed to know what counts as a valid bill? I'll never book with OYO again.

The staff are a danger to your security. Door handles seemed to be broken repeatedly, and when I was late checking out, they'd already opened the room and gone inside before I got back. Thankfully, I was alert enough to take my valuables with me when I went out. They try to charge more than the online price. The sheets were dirty with soot, and I don't think they even cleaned the floor properly. The place is full of cockroaches, so it isn't suitable for more than a day. If there were a minus rating, that would fit. PLEASE DON'T book here.
