Hotel Abu Palace - Chennai

This is a third grade hotel with a bad smell everywhere, and the staff were pathetic. It’s under renovation and smells really bad. There were bed bugs and leaks in the room. Don’t book here, especially if you’re with family.

The check-in was quick, but stepping into the room was a shock. It smelled, the bathroom was dirty, and the floor was sticky. Tables were dirty too, and cockroaches seemed to be everywhere. I asked to move rooms. The staff politely showed me three, but they were all in much the same condition, so I had to choose one. I took photos of the room and bathroom last week. I was there for one night on an official trip, and this is the worst hotel I've stayed in. Even arriving, I couldn't tell whether the place was open or closed. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

There was cat poop all over the floor, the AC didn't work, and there was no hot water. Common areas were in terrible shape, and there was nobody for room service. They still impose rules like banning outside food, along with other ridiculous ones. The hotel is operating despite having no facilities. Don't book online without finding out what it's really like.

Breakfast was good and the property looks nice from outside, but the stay itself was awful. The room standards and hygiene were nowhere near acceptable. I have videos of the stained sheets, cockroaches, and dirty restroom, though this platform doesn't let me upload them. My first room reeked of cigarettes. I asked to change rooms, but the next one was just as bad: stained bedsheets, a poorly cleaned restroom, and cockroaches crawling on both the bed and floor. There was even a used condom under the bed. I hope management takes this seriously and improves the cleaning and room upkeep.
