Hotel Gokulam Park

The complimentary channa sundal at Gokulam Park Hotel smelled old and unpleasant, and tasted stale. We’d gone for drinks, and this snack spoiled what should have been a relaxed evening. A free item shouldn’t be served so carelessly. For a hotel of this standing, it was embarrassing and unacceptable.

The rooms were very well maintained and the cleanliness was superb. Front office and room service staff were polite.

At Bharath restaurant on the ground floor of Gokulam Park, the food was a letdown. The soup was watery, the gobi 65 was only about half cooked, and the fish finger was too salty. Around half the menu items weren’t available, and for desserts there was only ice cream and milkshake. The milkshake came in a glass like one for alcohol, with no sugar. After I complained, the replacement had far too much sugar and syrup. Totally disappointing.

We complained to the manager twice about the tandoori chicken and pepper chicken, both of which had far too much masala. We cancelled the first dish, but a newly joined bouncer, Karthik, insisted we pay for the cancelled food and put on a show. He told us not to come to the bar if we didn’t have money for the bill. He was arrogant, careless, wouldn’t listen to us, and didn’t obey the owner either. The manager gave no proper response. The cooking master was totally useless. Gokulam park should take action against the manager, bouncer Karthik, and cooking master at the restaurant.
