OYO 40128 Grand Park Hotel

I booked and paid online for 8 days, but after 4 days I left because of the hotel staff's behavior and OYO's careless, uncooperative handling. They still haven't refunded the remaining 4 days or my food bill. I'm waiting for a response, otherwise I've decided to take them to consumer court. The room was in very poor condition for OYO standards. The AC didn't work, or its remote was missing, and the same was true of the TV. Bathroom fittings leaked, wires and lights hung loose and seemed unsafe, the WiFi didn't work despite being promised free, and housekeeping never came during my 4-day stay, not even to sweep the room despite repeated requests. I was also denied drinking water and basic utensils for my food. A notice at reception said there was no complimentary food or water for OYO customers, and they denied me the dinner and breakfast I'd paid for in advance. OYO's helpline was worthless. It was hard to reach them, and the recorded message about high call traffic could keep me waiting for an hour before the call disconnected, or say the service wasn't available. When I did get through, they listened, drew a peculiar conclusion, then put me on hold to transfer me to an expert. I'd wait 10 to 30 minutes or more, explain the problem again, then be put on hold while they spoke to the property manager. After another long wait, sometimes half an hour or more, they'd say they were transferring me again, and the same sequence started over. They'd repeatedly ask if I was audible, and after I kept saying yes, they'd eventually say they couldn't hear me and disconnect. Calling back wouldn't connect, as if my number had been blacklisted. WhatsApp was the same.

This didn't feel like a room suitable for a family. The toilets were horrible, and there were no towels, soap, cupboards for clothes, or mosquito repellent. The room was full of mosquitoes. If they offer you G2, don't take it. I wasn't shown any alternative room on any floor. Sorry, OYO. I didn't expect this from you.

The only sin I committed was booking through the OYO website. That's why it felt like I was being punished. When I asked, the hotel guy said, 'why you booked on OYO'. It's really frustrating. I'd paid for breakfast in advance, but got none. The AC didn't cool, there was no warm water, the bathroom was dirty, and the shower and fan regulator didn't work. The bedsheet had holes, the blankets and pillow were dirty, there were ants in the drawer, and the floor room hadn't been cleaned. I wish I could give -5 stars.

For just Rs 600, it's a beautiful hotel that really suits its name. It's clean and good, with a lift to the different floors, a TV, phone, and superb toilet. What else?
