The Vijay Park- Near Airport

We’d travelled all day with family and arrived around 9 pm, only to be told after they checked our OYO booking ID that no room was available because the hotel was under maintenance. Four or five people then tried to persuade us to book a different room, and everyone was arrogant. My phone was nearly dead, so I asked if I could charge it for five minutes to arrange another place. They wouldn’t let me. We had to go around to nearby hotels with a discharged phone. I don’t understand what kind of service OYO is providing or who is responsible for putting us through that.

The billing issue was the most frustrating part. I needed a proper tax invoice with my company’s GST details, but the staff refused, saying they don’t issue invoices for online bookings. Yatra had told me to collect one from the hotel, yet the staff suggested I edit the PDF myself and type in my company address. That’s completely unprofessional. I paid around 2,000 per night, about 4,000 for two days, and expected a clean room and working bathroom. Instead, the maintenance was non-existent and the room had poor ventilation, so it felt suffocating. The first room had cockroaches everywhere, a broken bathroom jet spray, and an AC that didn’t work. After a lot of back-and-forth they moved me, but the second room was worse: the shower didn’t work, and the toilet kept leaking and draining water. Broken plumbing, pests, and staff suggesting I fudge tax documents made this one of my worst hotel stays. If you travel for business or want somewhere hygienic to sleep, stay elsewhere.

The buffet wasn’t up to standard, and when the lobby AC wasn’t working I went to sit in the restaurant. They wouldn’t let me stay unless I ordered something, saying the restaurant was a separate entity from the hotel. I arrived at 8 in the morning and asked for an early check-in. Although rooms were available, the receptionist, whose name was something like "Yuan," refused and said check-in would be after 11:30. After waiting two and a half hours, at 10:30 he started asking each guest for Rs. 500 for one hour of early check-in. He took Rs. 500 from one guest and put it in his pocket without giving an invoice. His manner was rude. The rooms shown online were completely different from reality. There were lots of insects in the rooms and washrooms, an unpleasant smell, a poorly working bathroom faucet, and an AC that made a terrible noise. My request to change rooms was denied, and other guests raised the same complaints about their rooms. I was totally disappointed.

The so-called complimentary breakfast had only 3-4 items, and the quality was extremely poor. At ₹3500 a night, this old, dirty, badly maintained property was nowhere near worth the price. There was often no water in the washroom, the AC leaked onto the floor, the room was dark with inadequate lighting, and the TV didn’t work. Insects and even rats were roaming around inside. My stay at Super Townhouse Oak Alandur Near Chennai Airport (Formerly Vijay Park) was one of my worst hotel experiences. The room was nothing like what the app showed, with fake photos and false promises about basic facilities. MakeMyTrip is a trusted platform, and I believe it shouldn’t promote places like this. The property needs a complete renovation and a change in management. I’m asking MakeMyTrip to take strict action so other travelers don’t go through the same thing. Highly not recommended.
