Palliath House-Heritage Villa Beachside

Our hosts greeted us like family as soon as we arrived and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The typical Keralan home is lovely, with lush gardens full of banana trees, coconut palms, and spice plants. Our room was spotless, cozy, and fully air-conditioned, a welcome break from the muggy weather. Everything about our stay at Palliath House Homestay exceeded what we expected. It’s close to the backwaters and only a five-minute walk from the beach.

We were six friends staying at Palliath house for two days. Rachel, the hostess, was friendly, helpful, and looked after us like family. She let us choose our meals, and Helen, the cook, made delicious pittu, string hoppers, hoppers, and rice. The place was clean, with a large garden full of plants and flowers. We walked to the beach and watched the sunset. Rachel arranged auto rickshaws to take us to the nearby town, and the drivers stayed with us during our shopping trip. I’d wholeheartedly recommend this place to nature lovers.

The meals were what I’ll remember most: fresh Kerala dishes, from soft appam and fragrant fish curry to well-seasoned vegetarian food. Some ingredients came from the garden, and the fish came from the three ponds on the property. The traditional house has lovely gardens with coconut palms, banana trees, and spices, while our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely air-conditioned. The hosts made us feel at home as soon as we arrived and did everything they could to make us comfortable. It’s a quiet spot near the backwaters, with the beach only a five-minute walk away. We left feeling like we’d had a real taste of Kerala and are already thinking about coming back.

The beach is an easy 400-meter walk, and the peaceful setting makes it easy to forget the city for a while. We woke to birds and fresh air, ate lovely home-style food, and spent time among all the greenery. Rachel Aunt and Annie welcomed us so warmly that we felt like family. The garden and trees made the whole stay feel restorative, and we left happy, well fed, and already missing the place. A lovely choice if you want to slow down and enjoy genuine hospitality.
