The rooms were spacious and satisfactory, but poor service, staff conduct, and worries about guest safety made my stay from 29 May 2026 to 31 May 2026 extremely disappointing. When we arrived on 29 May, only one person in our group got a welcome drink; the rest were ignored. On 30 May, we came back from a day trip around 8:30-9:00 PM and ordered dinner. Staff called repeatedly at about 9:52 PM and 9:56 PM to say the kitchen was closing and hurry us to place the rest of our order. They kept saying “8 minutes left” and “4 minutes left,” then sent someone at 9:58 PM to say there were “only 2 minutes left.” If last orders are at 10:00 PM, this felt more like a hostel mess rushing guests than hospitality, and made us uncomfortable. At 9:58 PM we ordered snacks and dinner. Around 10:10 PM they said Dry Manchurian wasn’t available. We asked for Noodles, Crispy Corn, and Cheese Chilli instead, but each was refused in turn. It seemed staff simply didn’t want to make anything else because of the late hour, even though we’d ordered before closing. When I went downstairs, they again said there would be no substitute. I explained that we had ordered on time and should get an alternative if a dish wasn’t available. Instead of sorting it out professionally, they argued and said, “We are not your servants,” “You are not paying our salaries,” and “Do whatever you want.” Two staff members became aggressive and seemed ready to physically confront us. We were visiting from Haryana and felt extremely unsafe in the hotel. My wife and friend even suggested filing a police complaint, but we didn’t want to spoil our leisure trip, so we let it go. Breakfast on the morning of 30 May was poor: the parathas were cold, the poha was bad, and the sambar was watery and tasteless. Around 10:30 AM, lady guests came in, and staff began taking food off the buffet and repeatedly asked if they wanted anything else because breakfast was ending, rather than letting them eat comfortably. I skipped breakfast on 31 May because of the night before. Other guests told me they had asked for fresh parathas, but staff rudely said to eat what was there or leave. So it wasn’t just my experience. The rooms met expectations, but the kitchen and service staff ruined the stay. Hospitality is also about how guests are treated; no one should feel threatened, insulted, or unsafe. I strongly request a thorough investigation, a review of CCTV footage from the dining area and reception on the night of 30 May 2026, strict action against the staff involved, and better training in customer service and conflict handling so no future guest is treated this way.

There’s no valley view from any room or balcony, and the crowded market location means buildings and constant noise instead of a peaceful Mussoorie stay. I spent two nights in the “Cottage Room” at Moustache Mussoorie, and it was a disaster. Don’t let the cottage label fool you. Our bathtub leaked and couldn’t be used. Management offered the jacuzzi as compensation, but the next day we found both the jacuzzi and spa were broken too. It felt like they’d only offered it to stop us complaining. Staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional, despite being described as good. Breakfast was chaotic: nowhere to sit, and we waited over 30 minutes for food to be refilled. Most items were gone before they even arrived. The “Free High Tea” was just basic tea and one sad bread sandwich. This was a total waste of money, with no view, noise, broken facilities, and rude service. Avoid it at all costs and find somewhere that offers the Mussoorie experience.

We were after a quieter stay away from Mall Road, and this was a good fit. It’s around 3-4 km from Mall Road and about 4-5 km from Landour, with good road access. The arrival and check-in were calm and easy, and the location keeps you away from the crowds while making travel convenient. We booked the highest-category room. There’s no valley view, but the room itself was excellent, stylish, clean, fresh, and well maintained. The upkeep was clear. Staff and management were courteous and helpful, and the food was good. Breakfast had a slightly limited spread, though the made-to-order eggs were a nice touch for me. We stayed at Mustasch Mussoorie for two nights and had a very pleasant, comfortable time. It’s a good choice for a peaceful Mussoorie visit with well-designed rooms and good service.

The rooms have a beautiful aesthetic, and we really enjoyed the stay and the food. We were breaking our journey, so not having a view didn’t bother us and wasn’t an impediment. Slept comfortably and felt refreshed for the journey onwards. If you want a comfortable, aesthetic place and don’t mind compromising on the view, this is a top choice.

The calm surroundings were a welcome break from the chaos of Mall Road, and getting there was easy. The location feels scenic, with a refreshing, truly Mussoorie-like feel when you wake up. The staff were attentive, courteous, and always ready to help with a smile, which made me feel cared for. The rooms were clean and the whole place had great vibes. Food was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared; the meals felt homely but were presented well. Moustache Mussoorie got everything right for a relaxed stay in the hills. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely return!
