The Sal Woods Forest and Spa

The food felt fresh and homely, with plenty of choices, and the owners took time to check that we had what we needed. We booked The Saalwood Resort at the last minute, which ended up working out really well. It’s in a quiet spot that’s still easy to reach. Our room and bathroom were spotless, with everything arranged neatly. Tea, water refills, and cleaning came on schedule without us having to chase anyone. We also saw the pool being skimmed each morning. The service felt both professional and warm, and changed how we think about hill resorts.

The owner checked on us regularly, which was thoughtful, and the pool was clean. I stayed with colleagues on a short work trip, and the place worked well for us. Wi-Fi was reliable, rooms were clean, and staff had the facilities ready for small meetings. Meals arrived on time and were tasty and hygienic. Cleaning and cab arrangements were prompt, and the property felt safe. I’d recommend it for work trips as well as holidays.

The wedding setup was beautifully planned, from the décor to the delicious food. I was there for my cousin’s wedding and was impressed by how warmly and respectfully the staff treated everyone. They seemed to anticipate what guests needed, and the arrangements ran smoothly.

Our guests felt looked after throughout the wedding, which was the biggest compliment we heard afterward. The children had plenty of room to play, and elderly relatives received extra attention. Staff handled everything with ease and kept the mood warm and joyful, so everyone felt valued.
