I was harassed at checkout for extra GST even though I’d already paid in full. When I questioned how they handled things, the owner got aggressive and threatened to make me leave, while the staff argued instead of helping. They even charge extra for drinking water. The room was filthy, with stained walls and spit marks, a dirty toilet, and pillows barely fit to use. My stay at Hotel Great Shiva Deluxe near New Delhi Railway Station (Paharganj) was a nightmare. Unsafe, unclean, and unprofessional. Avoid this place under any circumstances.

I paid 1100 Indian Rupees, but the facilities were hardly worth anything. There were cockroaches throughout the room, a terrible smell, and the room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The bathroom was in very bad condition too. The manager controls the air conditioning and switched it off at 4 in the morning. There wasn’t even a cell in the A/C remote. The auto driver got commission, so he recommended this hotel to me.

The AC water leaked all over the room floor, and neither the landline nor the TV worked. To get the AC turned back on after reception shuts off the room’s main control two hours after check-in, you have to come downstairs, even if your room is on the 2nd floor. They also take discarded water bottles, refill them, and give them to guests. Paying to stay here just means paying for problems. Don’t come here.

I arrived in Delhi late at night and was desperate, so I took a room. The night staff were polite and showed me a room that was okay but not clean. They asked me to pay and said someone would bring bedsheets and a towel, but nobody came. After I complained, they moved me to an even dirtier room. I gave up and went to sleep. There were bugs and trash everywhere, cigarette butts in the toilet, and renovation noise woke me up. I left early, and reception asked for extra tax. The place felt very unfriendly, and I paid Rs 1500/- for this torture.
