Hotel Mahajan Palace

The location is poor, around 4 km from New Delhi Railway Station, and sometimes Ola and Uber aren’t even available. The staff seemed focused on money, overcharged us, and treated us like strangers instead of showing any care. They were unfriendly too. I regret staying at New Delhi No. 1, the worst hotel I’ve ever used. I wouldn’t recommend booking it, especially for a family. It’s not a family hotal, don’t take your familys there.

The rooms were super clean and beautiful, and the bathrooms were hygienic. The workers were friendly and helpful. We booked rooms during a recent two-day visit to Delhi. I’d give it five stars if not for the manager being dishonest and the cooking items being overpriced, so I’m giving four.

After a 22-hour train journey from Kolkata, we had a terrible experience at Mahajan Palace in Delhi Pahadjung. We’d booked a room for four hours through Goibibo because our bus was at night. At check-in they asked how my husband and I were related, then demanded a marriage certificate and photos. We showed them a few photos from five or six years ago, but they wouldn’t even look at them. They also asked me to get my parents on the phone. I called my mother, but they refused to speak with her. We tried every way we could to resolve it, and Goibibo, where we’re almost regular customers, called the property several times to help, but the hotel wouldn’t cooperate. As a traveller, I’d tell others not to come here without a marriage certificate.

The rooms were dark and smelled awful. They were filthy, with cockroaches everywhere, even on the beds, and the bathrooms were dirty too. Service was very poor and no one was helpful. The hotel is far from the markets. A very bad experience.
