Hot showers, friendly people, and one of the best breakfast spots in town just downstairs. There were a lot of Buddhist monks staying here too. It’s a nice hostel, but a budget place, so the quality reflects that. On Saturday nights, be ready for loud house music from across the street that can go on later than elsewhere.

The room was plain but clean, with fresh duvets and reasonably comfortable beds, and the staff were lovely. The bar across the road played pretty awful music until around midnight on the Thursday I stayed, which wasn’t great. It’s also nice to support a not-for-profit, and they seem to put on a good mix of debates and classes.

I felt right at home here, and it seems especially well suited to students. The atmosphere is peaceful and positive, with clean, roomy, affordable rooms. The market and monastery are both an easy walk away. Cheap, but still good quality.

The staff are really polite and nice, and the place supports a great cause. Rooms are very basic, with two single beds, but the washrooms are clean. There’s hot bathroom water and cold filtered drinking water at reception.
