I’ve stayed at many hotels and resorts while visiting the Raan Utsav festival, but none were as good as The Desert Resort (Borewali). It’s value for money, with authentic food and good service. The rooms are clean and very well managed, and the staff are supportive. I’d recommend it for families.

We had no respect or care during our stay. The staff were rude and nobody seemed concerned about us. When we asked for a campfire, they said we had to bring the wood ourselves. They chose when to serve tea at night, the folk dance was mediocre, and the food came late. The cutlery was old and completely broken. Then we were told to clear out because the owner wanted to welcome personal guests. A horrible experience. Don’t consider staying here.

The staff were good, and there was music and a bonfire in the evening. Breakfast and dinner were vegetarian, while lunch was outside. Electricity might be an issue. A nice experience, though we had a few hiccups.

Our kids loved sleeping in the tent when we visited with family. The resort is beautifully managed, and we enjoyed the authentic Gujarati food and a great musical performance around the bonfire.

Everything else was good, but the washroom had a water leak. It smelled and hadn’t been cleaned.
