Hotel Silver Land New Digha

We went during the off season, and there was some dust in the room when we arrived, but they cleaned it promptly when we asked. The location is on the main road, around 400 meters from the sea and about 500 meters from Jagganath temple. I was there with my family, two adults and two kids, in an executive room with breakfast included. For Rs 3200, we got a modern room with two twin beds and central AC, and the service was great. The rooms are well appointed, at a 3 star level. Breakfast was freshly fried luchi, ghoogni, boiled eggs and frooti. I'd recommend it for families.

The manager was the last straw. We kept reporting serious problems, but he ignored us, offered no help or apology, and was rude and arrogant. The room itself was filthy, with bugs crawling around, and the torn bed-sheet and comforter were covered in dirty marks and stains. It felt disgusting and completely unhygienic. The washroom lock was broken, as was the main door lock, so we felt unsafe during the stay. Water kept running from the tap and we couldn't properly turn it off. Cleanliness and basic maintenance seemed completely neglected at HOTEL SILVER LAND, Digha. We paid expecting basic cleanliness and decent hospitality, but got dirty rooms, broken facilities and unprofessional management. It was an absolutely horrible experience. HOTEL SILVER LAND, Digha should not be operating in this terrible condition. I'd warn others away unless they want to ruin their trip and waste their money.

Water damage is visible throughout the building, with damp patches and mold around the ceilings, peeling paint and crumbling plaster on the walls and ceilings. It points to serious waterproofing and maintenance problems that seem to have been ignored for a long time. The rooftop pool is just as concerning. Its water is completely green and doesn't look properly maintained, so it seems unhygienic and unsafe to use. For somewhere that presents itself as well built and managed, the actual condition is very different. The poor upkeep, lack of hygiene and visible deterioration make this a very disappointing experience. The place urgently needs proper maintenance and repairs.

I booked two rooms and was totally disappointed. The rooms weren't clean, especially the very dirty bathrooms, and the bedrooms were dirty too. Service was very poor, the staff were rude and unfriendly, and the guard was angry in his manner. Online booking showed 1.5k, but the staff quoted 2.5k offline for the same room. It felt totally overpriced, especially since other hotels in that price range are more affordable and have better staff behavior. I expected good service for that price, but they didn't provide it. I first looked at the Google reviews and didn't expect this kind of service or behavior. I wouldn't recommend anyone go there based on those reviews. It will disappoint you and waste your hard-earned money and Digha trip experience. 😡🤬😓🥴
