The table and washroom were clean and fresh, and they have two-wheeler parking in front. There’s no four-wheeler parking, so you have to use pay and park. I ordered masala shawaya mandhi, porotta, and beef curry. The masala shawaya, porotta, and beef were good, but the mandhi rice was overcooked and lacked the usual mandhi rice flavor. They hadn’t brought the masala dip with the masala shawaya, so I had to ask for it. The mayonnaise was average.

I came back to this one of Kochi’s oldest restaurants after nearly 15 years, and the food still has the same quality and taste. The chicken biriyani is a must try. It gets crowded at peak times even with seating upstairs, and parking is hard to find.

The porotta is one of Kochi’s best, soft and not oily. I only had time for a quick stop in the evening, so didn’t try much else. Their egg masala is basically green peas masala with egg, and it was nice. Tea was just average, and service ran a bit slow because it was busy.

The food was decent, but the service made this one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in Kochi. We came as a group of six this afternoon for mandi and waited 30 minutes. People who arrived after us got seats first, and only after we raised it were we moved to another table. We then waited another 20 minutes for the mandi. We asked three different staff members several times for mayonnaise and extra rice, but neither arrived until we followed up again 15 minutes later. The food itself was okay, nothing special, but the staff felt disorganized and unresponsive throughout. Definitely not what we expected, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
