Rumtek Boutique Nest

I visited with a few colleagues, and it turned into an amazing, memorable experience. The quiet, pollution-free surroundings and wide views over lush green valleys were striking. Cool mountain air and nature all around made this serene hillside spot feel like a hidden gem, a welcome break from everyday bustle and a chance to recharge.

The room itself was amazing, and the view was top notch, though that credit goes to nature. My issue is the 3800 per day tariff. I've stayed in homestays for half that price with equally good rooms, twice-daily tea, and great home-cooked food. Here, despite paying so much, we had to make our own tea in the common kitchen. The food wasn't worth 3800 per day either, the vegetables weren't cooked through, and there was a serious connectivity problem. With these downsides, the owner shouldn't charge 3800 a day. I don't recommend this place.

We loved the food, which was served from the organic farm attached to the property, and the caretakers, Om bhaiya and his wife Radhika, were friendly and very nice. Rumtek Boutique Nest is a wonderful property with modern facilities, especially for such an out of the way village. We visited for two nights recently, and it was one of our best stays. A must visit for nature lovers.

Mr. Ritayan, the ever-smiling manager, was always there to help with anything we needed. We came with friends and stayed from 10th to 15th May '25, about 6 KM from Rumtek Monastery. The breakfast and lunch we had were great. Rumtek Boutique Nest has modern amenities and is so nice that it feels more like a hotel than a homestay. We hope to return.
